If you’re looking for great food with a view in Arlington, Mercury Chophouse should be at the top of your list! Dylan and I stopped by a few weeks ago and fell in love with its skyline view, awesome happy hour specials, and huge menu. I’ve got 7 main reasons why Mercury Chophouse should be added to your to-do list (but who’s counting?)

Mercury Chophouse is veteran-owned

As many of you know, I’m married to a Marine. There’s nothing I love more than seeing veterans doing big things in the civilian world. So when I heard the owner Jim Ross served in the USMC I was excited to share his story.

Y’all… let me tell you a little bit about Mr. Jim Ross. The man is a former Marine, Texas police officer, and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) task force officer who went back to school to get his law degree and opened his own practice one floor beneath the steakhouse. He is also an Arlington native who is a champion for his local community which is apparent by the vintage photography of Arlington proudly displayed on the walls of the steakhouse. Mr. Ross also serves on the Arlington Police Foundation Board, the Special Olympics Board, and the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board. #JimRossforPresident

Mercury Chophouse has a killer wine list

First things first…vino! Their wine list boasts hundreds of bottles from some of my favorite California wine regions such as: Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Walla Walla, and Columbia Valley. Looking for something from the other side of the pond? They also offer an extensive collection of premiere bottles from notable wine regions across France, Spain, Australia, and Italy. I sipped on an outstanding glass of Chardonnay. They also offer an impressive selection of fine spirits and cocktails.

They have the BEST view in all of Arlington

Yep…bold claim and 100% deserved. Mercury Chophouse is perched on the top floor of a high-rise, which means the expansive view encompasses miles and miles of DFW. We loved watching the roller coasters zip around and are already planning to come back during the holidays to see the Christmas lights of Arlington “from above”. You can take advantage of their happy hour deals, watch the sunset, and relax- what’s not to love about that?

The Mercury Chophouse menu is the perfect mix of steakhouse staples and international plates

The menu boasts traditional steakhouse dishes like dry-aged steaks, braised short ribs, lobster ravioli (I had this and it was insane y’all!) and oven roasted salmon, but it also has some unique dishes that are definitely worth trying. Check out the Moroccan “cigars”, a traditional Moroccan dish of spiced meat rolled up in phyllo dough, or the rack of lamb with fresh mint demi and jalapeno cheese grits. Dylan LOVED his steak. Overall, Mercury just serves up good, quality food. And if you’re on the fence about what to order, their friendly and knowledgeable staff can surely give you some recommendations.

The Mercury Chophouse location can’t be beat

The steakhouse is located right in the middle of DFW. Which means it’s less than a 30 minute drive from Fort Worth, Dallas, and the DFW Airport. It’s also a stone’s throw from the Cowboys Stadium… so I’m pretty sure a glass of California wine and a big juicy steak will be my new favorite way to "pre-game” before our next sporting event at the stadium.

The dessert menu is top notch

And to top it all off, their dessert menu is incredible. My favorite part? Ice Cream Martinis… ICE. CREAM. MARTINIS. Y’ALL. They have officially combined my two greatest loves. I ordered the bread pudding (because carbs), and wow. Just wow. No matter what you choose, you can’t choose wrong.

It’s a great place for groups (big or small)

Mercury Chophouse is currently the only fine dining restaurant in Arlington, and they can accommodate parties from 1-100. They offer a private room that’s perfect for parties or work-related events.

Apparently, they recently had a young man propose to his girlfriend over dinner and while he had both of their families waiting in the special event room. After the proposal, he walked her into the room where she was surprised to see all of her loved ones waiting to celebrate them (hello power-move).
